Hi,
1 - install your client as multiuser (see the wiki) and switch the OS account. That would be my recommendation. This way you can play with as many account as you want.
2 - the following always worked, I never used it with 8 though.
Delete the files
- DATAFOLDERdesktop8.ndk
- DATAFOLDERnames.nsf
- DATAFOLDER*.id
- DATAFOLDERbookmark.nsf
Alter the notes.ini for the following lines only to remain :
[Notes]
KitType=x
Directory=xxxxxxxxxxxx
InstallType=x
The x are your values which should not be changed
Hope this helps

If you live outside the United States, by submitting your email address you consent to having your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.
If your multiple users will share the same desktop, bookmarks, and contacts, you can simply create a different location document for each user. Name the locations something like Office – John, Office – Linda, etc. On the Mail tab, specify each user’s mailfile, and on the Advanced tab in each, browse to the correct User ID to switch to. Then, changing users can be done on the fly simply by selecting the appropriate location in the lower right of corner of the Notes window.
Are you trying to test against different versions as well?
If this is the case then you can install the different versions to different file locations and change the shortcuts and registries to allow both to run at the same time.

That works in the sense you use many different ids but you still use the same setup for the notes client.
