I recently uninstalled my Creative Labs Audigy 2ZA audio/video editor and re-enabled my onboard audio. I plugged my speakers into the inputs on the PC itself which is an HP Pavillion a11140N. At first I got no sound and when I went into control panel no device showed up in device manager. No device showed up under sounds and audio in control panel either. I located the realtek hd driver package, downloaded it and installed it and lo and behold, it showed up in device manager and my speakers are now working. I was able to run the realtek sound effect manager in order to set up the speakers and to test them. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth because my sound is perfect now, but when I go into control panel/sounds and audio devices, no device shows up for sounds, audio and voice. It does not seem to affect the sound coming from my speakers as I can play cds, dvds, etc. but I wonder what I need to do to get the realtek to show up under audio and sound. Thanks for the help.
