Can someone describe to me what Real Time Testing is? How does it differ from conventional web or application testing?

Usually in Avionics,Telecomm domain they do real time testing.It is the type of testing which is done to ensure the systems response time.

For ex.In Avionics domain,the system should respond immediately so that as per the outputs the crews can make the decisions asap and moreover it is safety mission critical application.

    Real time testing used to happen earlier in 1960s when there were no formal testers in an organization, so when a software was built, it used to be immediately released to the customer with a notion that within 3 months whatever shortfalls/bugs/defects arise during real usage, it will be immediately fixed by the developers. Practically in today’s scenario when the competition is too high due to price war, and customer’s quality requirements, nobody can produce software and put it straight in a ‘live’ environment for usage as well as ‘real time testing’ Beta Testing, in current scenario can be termed as reallike time testing but not real time testing.
