I have a txt file with lots of numbers separated with "/", and i want the program to read the file and use the numbers for calculus and tell me how much "/" the file has (or how many numbers the file has). Anyone knows how to do it? Thanks.

You can not "search" the text file. You will need to read characters or character strings from the text file. If you read character strings, you will have to search the string and count the occurrences of the character. Show us your code and the issues and we'll try to help.

Actually is an algorithm to prime numbers. I'm learning to program and i thought that instead of trying to divide the testing number by all numbers between 3 and that number i wanted it to tr to divide by the primes already calculated. It is kind of useless but i think it's important to start. The program just uses a simple algorithm to find primes stores in a file the prime separated by "/" and whenever i run the program is gets the last prime calculated and starts dividing again.
