    I would take a look at CPYFRMIMPF which can copy a , delimited file to a db2 file.

    Yes, you would just store the current position you are at in the record, then %Scan for the next comma. By subtracting the two values you can determine the length of the field. Then using %Substring, you can use the data.

    You would need to know what to expect in the csv file.

    I think it would be easier to just  use CPYTOIMPF
