 RDP suddenly stopped working on one server
RDP, Remote Desktop Protocol, Windows, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 error messages
Hi all :) I have a weird problem where all of a sudden RDP on one of our 5 server 2003 servers stopped working. The erro it comes up with is that it cannot connect. I tried RDPing to the server from itself and nothing. Using the IP address doesn't work either. ANy suggestions?? Thanks Tracy

Is there something in the event logs ?

A reboot will probably solve the problem, but you should investigate the root cause.

Other Answers:

Try restarting the Terminal Services service. If that doesn’t fix it (it’ll fix it sometimes) then reboot the server.

strange, options to stop/start/restart that service are greyed out??

it means that there was a try to stop/start/restart did try to happen and the thing hang…so in this case you will need to reboot the server…

it happen to one of the servers in my office and after a restart all is good

Thanks guys :) A reboot sorted it. I will have a look through the event log too and see if there is anything amiss.
