Hi,thanks for getting back.Basically im asking what soes the fault error "raid 5 degraded mean?" This is exactly the error on reboot. I rebooted it (powervault 745) because their was reports it was running slowly. In the utilities config. it was reporting one of the arrays has "faulty" .Now all 4 are "Ready" - the 5th is a virtual dsk. Hpe that helps.

<em>'raid 5 degraded error on reboot' </em>is probably not enough information to be able to help you.

What is the exact and complete error message ?
What hardware are you using ?
What operating system ?
What is the number of disks of the RAID setup ?
What exactly are you asking ? how to rebuild the RAID ? how to recover your data ? something else ?
