I was wondering if I could be able to set up my default hard drive and a new external hard drive for RAID 0. My internal disk drive is a ST3160815AS ATA Device (149 GB, IDE). And I have a My Passport Essential 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive WDBAAA5000AD6-NESN. Will I be able to have a RAID 0 array with these and if so, is it worth it? Any information on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You could setup a RAID 0 stripe using software RAID like the Windows Computer Manager. However performance will be horrible as USB doesn’t support the same data transfer speeds that internal disks do.

Not to mention that it would be highly unsupported by anyone.
