Windows Server 2003 – Quota limit on shared folders

Hi, We have a Windows 2003 server with a shared HD and lots of shared folders, I want to put a quota on all the shared folders, I think the quota system only works for the entire drive or users counts. Do I need 3rd party software? Thanks, Ken

You are correct. The native quota software only works for the entire drive. So for example you can setup the quota management so that user Bob can save only 5 Gigs of data to the server’s drive. If you need to do quota management at a finer level you will need third party software.

    What about limiting the users saved files to max 100M, is that possible on Windows 2003 server? or again need 3rd party software.
