Question about setting up ALE link

Hi I am a SAP Trainee, pls forgive me if the question is very simple to answer. My Question: Offlate I am encountering difficulties in setting up an ALE link for my sys.These are the few steps which I have taken pls let me know if this is right a. Created a communication user in SU01 b. Named the Logical Systems in SALE..the entries are BSPCLNT001- Central System BSPCLNT000- Child System c. Tried to Assign the Logical Systems to the clients by assigning the Central System to 001 ...it gives me an error message saying that there is already an entry for this field & if I change the client number to 005 it creates an enrty without any problem. I have 2 client 000 & 001....Do I have to create another client exclusively for the Central System.Kindly help me understand.Thank PS:Pls note that I just have 1 r/3 system & all the client are present in this machine.

No. For a client, you can have only one entry.

What u r actually doing by this step is, assigning the logical name you created to the Client. Understand that a SAP implementation can have several clients.

If it says that there is alrady an entry, you will only have to change the Logical system name to the one you created. Or use the one already existing.
