planning on taking CSQA… hope this will be a move on the right track.. am i correct???
Personally i do not recommend any certifications unless you are going to use that skill in your current job in near future.
I seen many people who got certifications but of no value since they are not kept into practice.
Instead i recommend you to take initiatives to:
1. Tune your current skills.
2. Learn things that can be put in practice in your job.
1. Tuning your current skills:
Think writing a white paper/ presentation based on your current expertise. This process will definitely help you to resolve lot of unclarities in your understanding of concepts. This results in tuning your current skills & enhancing confidence level.
2. Learn things that can be put in practice in your job.
Example: If your manual testing takes time and if no other team is doing automation for your product then you can take a INITIATIVE of learning and writing the test framework which will help you to quickly do your current job.
i.e. Identify the gaps and grab the oppurtunities by taking the initiatives. This will help you to update your skill sets and grow in your organization.
This learnings can be done from the info available in the internet and having a suitable mentor in your organization.
