Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

There will not be any hidden fields in Printer file.
Check the size of the printer file which was defined at the time of creation.

I don't understand. I have an error: screen is to large Which screen is too large? but i can not find where is the problem. It is a fonction PRTFIL, large 198 If this is a printer file, how does that relate to a "screen"? Too large? It's too large for what? Are you concerned that viewing a spooled file on a display causes extra space to appear beyond the right-hand side of the screen? Tom

Will u be little more clear about your requirement? You can have printer files of page width ranging from 1 - 378. And, There is no possibility of getting the error "Screen is too large" If you are really getiing this error, explain the scenario. When it comes to field size, you have mentioned all the current fields are having less than 198. Are you trying to create a new field which is having greater than 198 or trying to increase the legnth of current field.? We don't have fields like hidden(similar to DSPF) in Printer files. Pradeep.

However, i had no time, so i have written again my program.. If every body has an idee whrere i can find the detail of description of all the fields in the tables of SYNON??? just in case, that appens again.... thank you again

Synon... okay, that is a very specific area. SYNON gives me a message “screen” is to large… Where do you see the warning? Is it a message on the screen? If so, move the screen cursor to the message and press the <F1> key to see if any help appears. Does the help provide more explanation? Does it show a message ID? If it's not a message on a screen, is it a message in spooled output? When do you see the message? Do you see it when editing the function? Or does it show up after you finish editing and then try to create it? General information like that is always good to have when seeking help. sory for my bad english. Don't apologize too much for that. When I see someone struggling with the English language, I always think "This is a person who is conversant in at least TWO languages." That's not something to apologize much about. Tom
