We are a medical facility, under HIPAA regulations, that has a need to securely provide access to resources internally on our workgroup network to users outside the network. How could we share a file/folder so that people internally can use the file/folder but also allow outside users to the same resource for daily work? Please advice.

As you grow you’ll probably want to bring that sort of stuff in house. At which point something like SharePoint becomes a good option.
