Guess it will depend on what platform you are using. Here is a way for the iSeries environment:

If you are using RPG you can turn on an indicator when the condition occurs. In your DDS source for your display you can use the attribute DSPATR(PR) and condition it using the indicator you have setup in your RPG program.
