Prompting failed with unexpected error in Crystal Reports 11.5

On refresh get error message,

"Prompting failed with the following error message: 'Unexpected Error'. Error source: prompt.dll Error code: 0x80043800

I tried opening and saving all parameter fields. Any ideas?

guys i was also getting the same error and i did the same technique to solve it. but the problem rised again after some boots,, so finally i downloaded a fresh copy of crystal and installed that. i think this is the best solution instead of getting the problem again after sometime…

    Thanks for your input but I did find the answer. I needed to replace the following .dll's in c:winntsystem32 with a version that was somehow different. icuin30.dll icuuc30.dll both are V3.0.0.0 (http://oss.software.ibm.com/icu/) The only difference I see is the modified date. The versions and size are all the same. The versions that do not work were modified Wednesday, March 07, 2007 1:43:16 PM and the versions that work were modified Thursday, March 01, 2007, 6:00:00 AM.

    Great, thanks for posting back. That was the solution provided in the thread mentioned above. It would be interesting to know the reason behind those differences. Maybe some patch or update ?
