 Prompt for password on Linux mail server

Dear I have uploaded a file by ftp on web and kept under /var/pub in my mail server (Linux version-4). Now want, when user put that URL i.e. ftp://mail.arafapparels.com a password shall prompt and when password would match then user can have access.
