STRDBG
I'm attempting to run STRDBG on a free RPG program. It calls a subprocedure with a parameter and will send a value back to the program. But as soon as the call happens, the subprocedure ends with that error. I've read that STRDBG can't be used with subprocedures that have parms. But I cannot find an alternative. Anybody know of one? Will the debugger in Rdi get around the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

When you have the program in DEBUG mode, put a break point where it call the sub procedure.

Then when the program stops there, jou should be able to do a step into the sub procedure.
Now you will be able to identify the error.

How are you debugging the program, line by line? If so you could try adding breakpoints to by pass the call of the subprocedure. Just an idea. What OS release are you running currently?

Not sure where you might have heard that (STRDBG can't be used with subprocedures that have parms). I rarely write a subprocedure that doesn't have parms, and have not had any issues with STRDBG.
Put a breakpoint on the function call and press shift-F10 to step into, then find out why it's failing in the usual ways.
