Hi,
A program described file is a file which does not have a DDS description or may be defined differently in the program to the existing DDS description. An example of this would be a file that is FTP'd to your machine from another sort of system (e.g. windows/linux/etc). This file would have no DDS description, so you would define it internally in your program and read the file as a 'flat' file.
