I have the following problems while upgrading to higher OS.
1) Change in length of spool file number form 4 to 6.
The OS of old AS/400 machine is V4R4M0 where the length of spool file number is 4.
The OS of new AS/400 machine is V5R3M0 where the length of spool file number is 6.
During the migration to new machine we encountered some problems due to change of spool file number to 6.
We have modified the programs as per the new OS.
But we have problems with one of the system supplied copy books where the length of spool file number is defined as 4 B
We searched other source physical files to get the new book which is compatible to new OS.
Given below is the copy book name and the snap shots of spool file number length in the OS.
Change Spooled File Attributes (CHGSPLFA)
Type choices, press Enter.
Spooled file . . . . . . . . . . > CCDTEST4 Name, *SELECT
Job name . . . . . . . . . . . . > CCDTEST4 Name, *
User . . . . . . . . . . . . . > HSCDC01 Name
Number . . . . . . . . . . . . > 003641 000000-999999
Spooled file number . . . . . . > 1 1-999999, *ONLY, *LAST, *ANY
Could you please help in getting the correct source member which is compatible to the new OS.
2)When we restored the objects from old machine to the new machine, the Journal Receivers were not restored properly and they were in the status of PARTIL.
From the job log of Object Restoration we could not find any reason why these objects were not restored properly.
