I’m trying to install Visual Studio 2012 ultimate trial on Windows 8 and I get the following error message:

The .Net Framework installed on this machine does not meet the minimum required version: 4.5.50709.

When that didn’t work, I tried installing the .net framework version, but then got this error message:

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is already a part of this operating system. You do not need to install the .NET Framework 4.5 redistributable.

Details - Windows 8 release on a 32-bit Intel Core2Duo system, with Visual Studio Express already installed.

Any idea what is causing the problem?

Is your Windows 8 installation a developer preview, or something similar?
