 Problem with winxp bootup
Microsoft Windows, Tech support
I just bought a new HP laptop with Winxp. The problem is, sometimes when i startup the PC, windows appears on half the screen and the other half is black, the problem may go if i restart the PC again. How can i solve this problem? Thank You

If as you say it is a new laptop then i would send it back. To the best of my knowledge laptop screens are made in two pieces.. Sounds like you have an intermittent faulty screen..

Which model of HP laptops are we talking about here? Does this happen right from power on or after you get to the desktop screen?

Concur! Any screen problems during warranty are a sign to return the laptop.

Hi,

It looks like you might have a faulty graphics card, or even worse, an intermittent problem with your screen. Either way (and I admit, my answers may not be perfect), your best option may be to take advantage of warranty agreements/offerings from HP. How new is your HP laptop, is it still within warranty? If it is, you might do well to return it for repair.

If this laptop is new, send it back. There may be an issue with the build of it. There is a video wire which connects the lcd to the video card. Send it back wherever you got it from and replace it.

The problem you station is a board in the LCD screen and I would say to bring it back to the vender and get it replaced or fixed!
