problem with outlook

i am using outlook 2003 in my office in all the clients .there is a particular pc which regularly faces some problem with the outlook ..i have checked that system ..it was showing error that mail server is not available ..so i tried to ping the maill server its pinging fine and all other intranet sites are also running fine but still the problem exists ..i tried a lot to dignose the issue but could not get one ..so as a trobule shoot part i have just changed the switch port where the pc was connected ..but i dont think the problem is resolved . Anyone please can explain me what is the problem there???

Ive had this b4 when the network card was faulty, try replacing the card and test – if not that swap out the cables or check the wireless whcih ever way you connect check and make sure this is all working.

try to do telnet <server ip> 25 and telnet <server ip> 110
the port you are useing to send and receive, and look it connected or not if connected repair outlook 2003 or try other email client also Mozilla thunderbird, Outlook express.

    Since all other OL2003 PCs are working except this one, I would first start by comparing this PC with the others to see what are the differences. May be there's a particular hardware/software interferes with the operation of OL. Scan the PC for viruses/Trojans. Some bugs are known for disabling messaging system. Delete the user profile in OL & recreate another one. It may be corrupted. (backup all local file/settings first , of course) Do you have personal firewall or security utilities running on this PC? Make sure they are not blocking OL's access. Clean up the registry. Use utility such as CCleaner which is very good for removing junks on your PC.
