hello,

i'm facing a problem while trying to migrate SBS2003 to SBS2008

when installing sbs2008 it reads my answer file. But then i get an error: "the schemalevel of the existing sourceserver hasn't been adjusted" you have to adjust the schemalevel on the sourceserver.

so i thought ok, i'll just do adprep /forestprep adprep /domainprep adprep /domainprep /gpprep right? apparently not as i keep getting the same fault. when i run the source server migration tool it cannot prepare looking at the code it shows me this:

adprep.exe Exists: False 05/31/2011 04:52:23              adprepadprep.exe Exists: True 05/31/2011 04:52:23              Running adprepadprep.exe /forestPrep /wssg /silent 05/31/2011 04:52:30              05/31/2011 04:52:30              Adprep returned: UnableToModifyError(6) 05/31/2011 04:52:30              Skipping domain prep, since ADPrep failed. 05/31/2011 04:52:30          ProgressPage: Task Finished.  Succcess=False 05/31/2011 04:52:30          ProgressPage: Starting task Microsoft.WindowsServerSolutions.Migration.LicensingQFE 05/31/2011 04:52:30              Current version: 5.2.3790.131072 05/31/2011 04:52:30              Service pack version = 2 05/31/2011 04:52:30              Running D:toolsKB943494WindowsServer2003-KB943494-x86-NLD.exe /quiet /norestart 05/31/2011 04:52:32              Package returned: 1603 (0x643) 05/31/2011 04:52:32          ProgressPage: Task Finished.  Succcess=False 05/31/2011 04:52:32          ProgressPage: Starting task Microsoft.WindowsServerSolutions.Migration.Exchange 05/31/2011 04:52:32              Changing Exchange to be native mode. 05/31/2011 04:52:32              Begin adding Authenticated Users to Pre Windows 20008 Compatible Access group 05/31/2011 04:52:32              AU: LDAP://csdomein.local/CN=S-1-5-11,CN=ForeignSecurityPrincipals,DC=csdomein,DC=local 05/31/2011 04:52:32              PreWin2k: LDAP://csdomein.local/CN=Pre-Windows 2000 Compatible Access,CN=Builtin,DC=csdomein,DC=local 05/31/2011 04:52:32              AU is already a member, no-op 05/31/2011 04:52:35              auSuccess=True, exchangeSuccess=True 05/31/2011 04:52:35          ProgressPage: Task Finished.  Succcess=True 05/31/2011 04:52:35          ProgressPage: All work items have finished, status passed = False 05/31/2011 04:52:35          WizardControl: (going next) 05/31/2011 04:52:35          WizardControl: Clicked 'Next' on page ProgressPage 05/31/2011 04:52:35          WizardControl: Going to page 2 (FinishPage), going Forward 05/31/2011 04:52:35          WizardControl: Button state( visible, enabled ): 05/31/2011 04:52:35                                 Back( True, False ) 05/31/2011 04:52:35                                 Next( False, False ) 05/31/2011 04:52:35                               Cancel( True, False ) 05/31/2011 04:52:35                               Finish( True, True ) 05/31/2011 04:56:02          WizardControl: Clicked 'finish'. 05/31/2011 04:56:02          WizardControl: Completion status: FinishedWithProblems 05/31/2011 04:56:02          Need reboot = False
