Problem installing VMware


VMware, VMware Player

by mistake i installed vmware player for first time and without use it i formated the harddisk then i downloaded the vmware server but during the installation when it reaches the ''copying the files'' gives the error something like (previous vmware could installed completely close and start againg) i tried so many times but the same error i have got.and i have downloaded the new server 2.0 but it is also giving me the same error and player give me same error...
Kindly tell me what is happing and tell me the solution so that i could installed it safely for the next time

Sounds like either the VMware Player or the VMware server application was previously installed. I would go to ad/remove programs and ensure that you remove the software from the system.

If you can't find it in the list, try installing vmware player again and uninstalling it after you re-install, I've gotten some mileage out of this when an app doesn't uninstall completely.

I would recommend that you post this on the VMWare forum at <a href="http://www.vmware.com." rel="nofollow">www.vmware.com.</a> They have an excellent comunity and can probably answer your question quickly.

That is an odd problem for a fresh installation. VMware checks for previous installation logs. You typically have to remove previous versions of VMware products before upgrading or downgrading. I know what you are thinking and yes, there are actually reasons for downgrading under certain circumstances.
