 Problem accessing the Desktop and My Documents using Roaming Profiles / Redirects

I am having problems with users that have folder redirects and roaming profiles in a Windows 2003 domain. While using the program Nikon Picture Project v1.5, the software will not transfer the pictures to any folder on the "desktop" or in "my documents." It will allow the user to create a folder within its "browse" function however, but will not allow access to them.

The "Desktop" path is:  \ntserverredirectvariabledesktop

 I can copy them by going directly to the drive letter on the camera and copy/paste them to the folders on the desktop. Does the program not have access to the users redirected folder? I'm kind of stuck here...

Any ideas?
