I have been asked by one of oversea office to print a currently English title & column heading report in simplified Chinese. The contents are no change. I haven't do any DBCS report before. What should I need to change & install? We are running on V5r4. Can I use copy and paste to change the output?

Hi There,

Could this be nearly the same problem that you are facing? Read here: Display of Chinese Characters on AS/400 Using Client Access.

    Hi,

You could have the current heading and the translated heading as arrays in the program and select the one you want based on user ID.

If the report is externally described you could have 2 external print files and override to the one you need during the job.

If the report is run on 2 systems each system can have the correctly translated file.

If you only want to process the report once the report can output to 2 printer files in separate outqs.

You can out the headings into 2 printer overlays and select which overlay to process.

    Good Luck!
