Might be Adobe PDF reader 10x is not compatible, either you try lower version or you can try with another PDF reader like nitro or free PDF reader. I use free expert PDF reader, which works good and several options when fire print. It is easy to use and free.

What brand and model printer are you trying to print to? Is it connected directly, a network printer of using Wi-Fi connection?

Removed this comment by the OP from the Answer Wiki, as it is not really an answer, but just additional information about the problem reported:

"When trying to print an adobe pdf file from an e-mail, a box comes up and says “adobe reader stopped working.” Windows then closes the program and no printing occurs. Thinking my previous adobe reader was corrupt or something, I uninstalled it and download a “fresh” version of 10x. Same result."
