I am using a laser printer (HP5200-PCL6) to print AS400 reports (English & Arabic Reports). I am not able to print the Arabic characters from the laser printer. Could you please explain how to create the printer device for this laser printer (it works on TCP/IP) to print both Arabic and English characters? Do I need to install Arabic fonts to the Laser Printer?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Are your reports successfully generating in both languages? The printer should be imaging exactly what it “sees”, regardless of language or symbols….perhaps there is something missing on the computer itself, such as software which will convert the language prior to sending the reports to print? You should be able to print from a website in Arabic – I printed off a page from this this site on my laser printer to test this for myself.

http://www.alarabiya.net/

However, in printing a Web page, the page is rendered as a Postcript image to the printer

The initial request was for printing individual characters, Ascii values in the range x’80′ thru x’F0′, as the Arabic ‘glyph’ ( character )
