Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I have had a similar problem with some software we were using and a Dell 2330dn. It ended up being a firmware issue.

I suggest updating the firmware and looking at the following link to see if it is a settings issue.

Good luck.

Sometimes, depending on how your AS400 is set up error messages can be created in your print que when a writer has newly been started.  When using a terminal emulation program to direct your as400 spool file to a local printer it starts and stops your writer each time you close or open the emulation of the printer.  Depending on how your AS400 is set up starting your writer may prompt a message that will not allow anything to print until it is cleared.  So i would say check you AS400 settings and make sure you do not have any allignment or adjustment messages set to display when the print writer is started.

Firstly, and as AndreaF has already asked, what is the error message? Secondly, how is this printer configured on the AS400? If it is a device desc, I have had problems in the past with using the wrong value for the System driver program parameter. Perhaps if you were to let us have a look at the printer config you have...?

How is you printer connected? Via IP address, client access, *RMT or *VRT? It could be a number of things but the connection type will help finding a solution.
