Just curious if anyone has a fav printer in the AS-400 world.  The HP4200 / 4250 has worked well for us and unfortunately can no longer buy new. Suggestions?

We’ve been using HP4015N for a “throw it out there and it works” printer.

We've had some issues with the HP 4015n, largely taken care of by setting the PRTERRMSG parameter to *INFO. Though I'd be loathe to let them know, I like the Xerox printers as a rule. The Xerox-supplied workstation customisation objects are great.

Thanks for the replies. HP's are all we have used. Curious about the Xerox any suggestions on a model. Features we need include duplex and decent speed (40 pages or better would be good) multi tray capability as well. business use so RAM not really an issue

Could one of you that are using HP printers without IPDS card but still printing advanced printing with overlays, barcodes, *AFPDS, etc, please post a device description and customized object. I have several network printers(HP and 1 Brother) that I would like to route some reports that require an IPDS card to.

Clwaid, I'd suggest going to the Xerox site and looking at your options. We've got a variety of their printers & they all get a decent amount of use. The WorkCenter model line is pretty wideranging.
