Printer going offline prematurely from Client Access

I'm trying to connect Client Access to a laser printer that will be used as an AS400 printer. The issue is the following: I log on the little signon window, then the printer goes to online and the goes offline. The laser printer is an HP Laser 2100 (I know...old) and I'm running OS400 v4r4 and Client Access Express... Can you help?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

So it’s not allowing you to stay connected long enough to print?
What does the Joblog say?
There’s probably something wrong with the configuration.
Please provide the device config details from the AS400 WRKCFGSTS command.

Is the printer directly attached to the PC? Or is it a networked printer?
Networked printer would be best, you can configure without having to use Client Access and that makes us happy.
