 Printer drops out when spool file goes to associated Output Queue
*USERASCII, AS/400 printing, Output Queues, OUTQ, Printers, Spool files, V5R4, Xerox Phaser 4500
We have a Xerox Phaser4500 printer config as a 3812. Recently our third party software ACOM creates a merged CHECK spoolfile (its an *userascii) type from mapping and sends it to our outq. The spoolfile will show "WTR" and nothing prints. The printer then has to be turn off and on again. And then it will print, or we cancel the writers and start it again. This has been working fine up to now. Sometimes it works correctly and sometimes not. We've been on V5R4 since May. Joblog shows ending rror 50-Job ended while still active. Any ideas.

We have a similar set up but the printer is a remote and the outq is set to *HP as manufacturer. We haven't had that happen too often. Usually if there is an IPL it may get hung up and require ending and starting the writer to "fix". We have had hardware issues with the printer from time to time.
