Print overlays from iSeries

I am trying to create an overlay on the iSeries. I followed the instructions in Bill Cressy's article about 10 steps to creating overlays on the AS/400. I got the printer driver created. Created the source file. FTP'd the source to QDLS/overlays. Did the cpyfrmpcd into a source file. But when I do the crtovl cmd, it comes back with invalid source. I think I missed something. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Did the cpyfrmpcd into a source file.

Assuming that “source file” means a “source physical file”, then you didn’t follow instructions. The file should be a non-source physical file, program-described, single field, with record length 32766.

However, that might just be how you described your process and it’s not really a ‘source file’.

Please show us the error message that occurred. Be sure to include the message ID, and possibly also any additional messages that describe the condition.
