I have started pulling my hair out over the last few nights and now have a bald patch on one side of my head.....
Ok not really but I feel like pulling my hair out, I have this problem you see, it is something I have been working on for a while just for fun.
I have a Windows Home Server in the spare room at home and it has all my user shares on it which works fine and I can RDP to and also use the web interface (no issues with the home server)
I also have a Windows Server 2003 std edition server which is a DC for my Domain (this is in the same room) now the DC also hosts two virtual machines. machine 1 is XP Pro and machine 2 is server 2003 with exchange installed. I can ping and RDP to any of these machines while i am on the LAN
All Computers above have static IP addresses inside the LAN but have 1 Dynamic public IP which is mapped using DYNDNS
This is where the issue is
I cannot for the life of me get PPTP working
I set up PPTP from my work to my home using these settings
(not real details but close)
On my router I opened ports
1723 to 192.168.1.50------server-2003-DC
41 to 192.168.1.50------server-2003-DC
On the DC I switched the firewall off and there is no AV
connect to hostname or IP address
compufixdublin.webhop.net (translates to my public Dynamic IP)
Type of Connection
Do not use default gateway on remote network
Use Default Gateway on Remot Network
(I selected both of these but none work)
Please help as I really need a good nights sleep at this stage!!!
