 PPP
I'm trying to connect my system with another system via the serial cable using ppp, but my ppp0 interface is not up. How can i bring my ppp0 interface up?? Also, If i use ifconfig command I get the following error , root@LinuxWS2:~# ifconfig ppp0 192.168.2.2 dstaddr 192.168.2.1 SIOCSIFADDR: No such device ppp0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device SIOCSIFDSTADDR: No such device I'm using FC7 Linux kernel version is 2.6 and PPP driver version is 2.4.2 The other system that I'm conneting to serially is Ubuntu with kernel version 2.6 Can anyone tell me , why do i get that error??? Thanks in advance !!!

Hi, B.Tech, Have you started userspace part of the ppp subsystem - pppd ? I'm sure you haven't... When you start it with appropriate parameters on [u]both[/u] systems (I think tty name and speed would be enough in your setup), you'll get ppp0 interface. Good luck, Petko
