Q:
Poweredge 2800 No longer boots
One of the servers I manage is a 4.5TB Poweredge 2800 with a powervault 220s running Windows Server 2003 that no longer will boot and is about 10 months out of warranty. I started having some minor problems last week that I assumed were software related but then I did a reboot of the server after installing some MS Security patches and now it doesn't boot. As i watch the POST it appears that one of the RAID controllers, Perc 4e/Di Standard has failed as HA-0 (bus2 Dev 14) reads 0 Logical drives on the Host Adapter, and 0 Logical Drives Controlled by the BIOS, But HA-0 (Bus 8 Dev 14) reads 2 drives on each. I have tried to boot to the Utility Partition F10 but it cannot find it either. I have booted to my PE disk and with DISKPART I can see two 1.3_Tb partitions, but using any file explorers I cannot see any drives and definitely not C or D. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

You need to replace your RAID controller. If you have an exact replacement for the controller, you may be able to save your data, but your best bet is to replace the RAID controller and restore the data from a backup.

If you boot up using a linux live CD can you see the disks?
