Still failed to start until he put an 18.5 volt power pack into the system, Im using a generick power pack that puts out either 18 or 19 volts,I was using 18 volts repairer set it for 19 volts and it works great, is this slight increase in voltage OK or should I get an 18.5 output ?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You should be okay with 19 volts as long as the amps do not exceed the rating for that laptop. Should be listed somewhere on the laptop itself.
