 Post virus removal
reinstall drive contents, Virus removal
Norton paid service removed virus. Nor 2 lcd monitors will not display in color.Trying to make sure I don't lose data by moving C drive contents to 1.5 T Seagate external. Sony will reinstall system to original specs using their Vaio recovery wizard. Then I would like to return everyting to the main drive. Is this a feasible procedure?

Software/Hardware used:
sony Vaio VCG-RB40 XP Seagate 1.5T external.

Yes, but make sure you are not backing up any infected file, and make sure you have a good and up-to-date antivirus installed on the machine before moving backed up files back to the hard drive. You should not restore the whole backed up drive, as it includes many system files and folders and doing so will make your fresh windows installation malfunction. Also, keep in mind that all programs will need to be re-installed (they won't work by simply copying them back from the external drive). ------------------
