Possible to deploy 2005 report to sql 2000 RS?
SSRS, SSRS 2000, SQL Server Reports, SQL Server 2000, VS 2005, Visual Studio, Visual Studio 2005
I've never needed to do this before, but I need to know if I can deploy a report built with VS 2005
to a SQL 2000 Reporting Services box. I don't have an environment at the moment to test it on. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I don't think so. I believe that the RDL format changed between SQL 2000 and SQL 2005, and so the SQL 2000 server won't know what to do with the SQL 2005 RDL file.

Mrdenny is correct.

I finally got an environment I could test in and when I tried to deploy from VS2005 to the 2000 RS, it kept asking me for a username and password. It just didn’t know what to do basically.
