Switch(config)#interface fastEthernet 0/1 Switch(config-if)#switchport port-security Command rejected: FastEthernet0/1 is a dynamic port. Why is that happening?

Port security only works on Access ports. This is what you do:

Switch(config)#interface fastEthernet 0/1
Switch(config-if)#switchport mode access
Switch(config-if)#switchport port-security

    Yeah your right it worked that way but there is something else: When I've entered the command :switchport port-security mac-address 0000.0000. and connected the switch to another MAC, the port is up. Could you explain please?

    You need to specify the maximum number of mac-addresses allowed for the interface the default is 128. Use: switchport port-security max 1 You can also use a show command to check that the settings are correct. Use: show port-security interface fastethernet 0/1
