I have a desktop pc with a static ip and vnc installed. Im trying to access this computer remotely from another location but everything I try doesn’t work. I am able to connect to the router and internet. Also the router settings I set up pinholes or ports in the router to access the VNC program. So far I am able to use vnc to access this computer remotely from my laptop on the same wired network but that’s as far as I got.   I don’t know what to do, can anyone help me?

Are you running the VNC server app on the PC you are trying to access, and VNC client for the pc trying to access it. Silly question, but I have made that mistake. Can you give more information about the devices you have to go through to connect. Where is the other location? Is it on another subnet of your LAN, or is it via an external connection.

yes I am using the VNC server app on the PC that I am trying to access. I'm not sure about VNC client but i am using the address book. I am going through a att dsl modem and the other location is an external connection. My main problem that I find myself in is accessing the network via externally. I'm able to do it a my LAN connection. Maybe its an IP address issue.
