I am trying to connect the VMWare serial console from my ESX host. The steps I followed:

1. Made the changes into the virtual machine properties.       serialport 1: use named pipe       pipe name: /vmfs/volumes/Storage1/vm1/pipe1       near end: server       far end: the virtual machine

Issue: the pip1 socket file is not getting created hence I am not able to talk to the socket pipe1 through socat command.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated!

Hello,

Are you able to manually create the file? That may be a workaround, but the only fix I can think of…
