 Ping Virtual guest without lan access

HI, I have a virtual server with some programs installed (oracle server and other server application). I run the virtual server with vmware player. If I work in my home LAN I can ping the guest os without problems. I need to make this working even without lan access because I need to make some demo in places withou LAN access I tried to change adapter settings to bridged, NAT and host-only without success. Host is windows 7 64 and guest is windows 2000. Thanks for your help.

If you bring up a NAT network without physical Lan, the Guest get some IP add (dhcp from host) ?.
