The purpose is to verify that which object or job is taking more % of usage .. Depends on that we need to take the necessary action

To check each objects % of space is occupied on the server

PRTDSKINF. This command gives you all the details of existing objects list with % of space occupied on server.

    A simple way to start is to right-click the connection in iSeries Navigator. Select Collection Services-> Start Performance Collection... Make your attribute selections in the window that opens. As for "why", it's done to collect performance data for later analysis. However, if no one has ever set the system's work management attributes to reasonable settings, it might waste more resources than it's worth. Tom

    As To Star By Green Screen, type in, GO PERFORM, take OPT. 2, then OPT 1, fill in the parameter as *STANDARD & Cycle option as *YES, press Enter, performance collection is started. Press F5 to verify. ((For remaining parameters, u better study the screen help)). Performance collection purpose is, to check about some abnormality in the system, that what jobs were running in the system during that particular time of abnormality, and to know the reasons, as, some times, Admin misses the real time checkup, and need to know about the system abnormality reasons
