Comments on: PDF writer to FTP to server or netwprk location

Another example of "security for the sake of compliance" getting in the way of doing business like I wrote about here. Is there any reason the PDFs themselves cannot be password-protected (which uses a form of encryption)? Otherwise, check out SecureZip like Gilly400 mentioned or WinZip and others.

Hi,

Maybe you could look at using SecureZip – it’s probably a cheaper option than the upgrade. You could ZIP your PDF files with encryption before you mail them, you could also password protect them if you want.

I believe that the SecureZip files are compatible with winzip, so your receiving parties should be able to uncompress them on a PC.
