PDF inline view with Outlook Reading pane
I have seen this done but have no idea how it was done and now have an employee asking for it. When you receive an email from, say a fax service, where an attachment is sent as a PDF with no body text – when you open the email, Outlook 2007/2010 would automatically display the image view in the Reading pane as either the first page or the full document. This setting was turned off some now so that you have to select the attachment in the Reading pane to view the PDF. IS there some 3rd party program or setting that will reinstate this feature? Please help! Thank you.

Automatically opening attatchments sounds like a security risk. It may be something that Microsoft patched. I can't say I have seen what you are looking for done. Would be interested to see if there is a solution to this as I could not get it to open in a preview pane at my end trying to send a simple .PDF manual via e-mail.
