Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You may also try to go to the file, right click it and locate the line that says, “Open With” and selected the adobe program.  On some occasions, a program and a file will lose association with each other and by doing this, it helps re-associate them.  It is a common problem that I have seen in the past.

Step

Action

1

Click on the file that will not open

2

Right Click and choose Properties

Click on change

3

Choose Adobe Reader and then click OK

4

You have now established the association for the pdf file type

It's because you don't have any application installed that is registered against the .PDF file extension. I suggest PDF-Xchange. Run a oogle search for [ pdf-xchange viewer download ], download and install it. -- Tom

The Adobe Reader program probably isn't installed, and I won't advise installing it. If a .PDF viewer is needed, any of a number of alternatives are available. I've been using PDF-Xchange for a couple years. Adobe is a good program, but I've had trouble agreeing to some of their licenses in the past. -- Tom
