PCMCIA UNKNOWN_MANUFACTURER
I have a SanDisk CompactFlash card that has been working in all of my laptops except for the newest one I just got. When I put the card in the new laptop it recognizes that a card has been inserted because the new hardware install dialog pops up but it can't find any drivers for it. When I go into the Device Manager the card is listed as PCMCIA UNKNOWN_MANUFACTURER. I have tried to put other types of cards in the same computer and the same thing happens. All of my laptops are Dell Notebooks. The reader is a Texas Instrument PCIx515. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dustin

Answer Wiki:
The "Driver Guide" site has a driver for your device here you probably have to sign up for a membership, but there is a free membership available for occasional users. I've gotten several odd or obscure drivers from this site. While I have never had a virus problem originating from this site, always scan any files you download. Good Luck! -Flame *************** Are any of your other systems the same OS as the new one? Or does the new one have a newer OS?You can check the manufacturer's web site. You probably need an updated driver. ~ technochic
