 PC5250 License Error return code 9052 2751
We added NetMotion to our network and have it acting as a type of "fire wall". Laptops running iSeries Access for Windows (v5r3) are getting this error periodically - around every 30 days. Much older versions of CAE do not present this error. We have found that by taking the user out of their highly restricted NetMotion group and putting them in an open group, having them log in (it takes longer than normal), log out, putting them back into their restricted group seems to reset the condition for around 30 days. We have called IBM support and NetMotion - no help. it appears CAE is "phoning home" to validate our license, but cannot get thru the NM "firewall". Does anyone know where CAE is trying to reach so we can add it to the NM policies?

Answer Wiki:
We talked to IBM and they said Client Access does not "phone home", yet it does - it contacts the iSeries for validation, but it does it via the PC's loopback address, not the iSeries address. We have opened this address in our firewall and hopefully that will be the end of the annoying message. Pretty bad when IBM can't tell you this.

Just a thought.. Client access can be set up to “periodically” check for updates automatically. Do you have it set to do that or to never check? We have one Windows install image where CA was set for “periodic” checks. Users with that image “periodically” report strange ewrrors involving licensing type of error codes..
