Hi, Refered to your question you said that you cannot write to the "command prompt line". May be your windows Operating System is having some systems file missing. You can try to reformat your windows/repair your windows by using starup CD/Disk.Before format the windows, please SAVE all your necessary files inside your additional partition disk. Good luck, thanks. from Dennis.

Not really an AS400 Fan, but the following may help you. On AS400 “*” has a special meaning, unfortuneately not the same as on a PC, documentation says it is not useable in PC COMMAND LINE. You may be able to enter it if you quote the full PC Command string. As far as changing path is concerned I suspect it just uses the default command path on the PC, I’ve never tried it myself, if so the following will help;

I’m not sure from your message what it is you are trying to do.

Are you trying to execute a PC command from the AS/400 using the RunRmtCmd (Run Remote Command) CL command? Is that a double quote (“) in your message or 2 single quoutes (”)?

Are you trying to change the path on the AS/400 or on the PC?

If you send more info or an example, i may be able to help. I’ve done this before and it does work. Also include any error messages and their IDs. There’s not much you can’t do on the 400.
